The Senate had a series of votes this morning and I wanted to be sure everyone had the final outcome.
Dr. Coburn’s motion to suspend the rules in regards to his earmark amendment #4697 failed 39-56.
His motion to suspend the rules in regards to his substitute amendment to the Food Safety Bill also failed 36-62.
(Both motions required 67 votes to succeed.)
The Senate then agreed to final passage of S. 510, Food Safety Bill, as amended, by a vote of 73-25.
